Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Last updated: May 16, 2026
If you are a California resident, or a resident of another U.S. state with applicable privacy laws, you have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising. This page explains how to exercise that right with Marine Depot, doing business as Marine Depot Direct (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
What This Means
We do not sell personal information for money. However, when you visit MarineDepotDirect.com, certain advertising and analytics technologies (such as cookies, pixels, and tags from Google, Meta, and similar platforms) may share information about your browsing activity with third parties to help us deliver advertising about our products on other websites and apps. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and similar laws in other states, this activity may qualify as “sharing” or “sale” of personal information.
You can opt out of this sharing using any of the methods below.
Option 1: Submit an Opt-Out Request by Email
Email us at [email protected] with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share” and include:
- Your full name
- The email address associated with any account or recent order, if applicable
- The state you reside in
- A clear statement that you wish to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information
We will process your request within the time required by applicable law, typically 15 business days for opt-out requests. We may need to ask you for additional information to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
Option 2: Use Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals where required by law. GPC is a browser setting or extension that automatically tells websites you visit that you wish to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. When we receive a valid GPC signal from your browser on the Site, we will treat it as an opt-out request for that browser and device. For more information about GPC, visit globalprivacycontrol.org.
Option 3: Manage Browser Cookies and Advertising Preferences
Even after you opt out with us, you may still see advertising from us or our partners. To further limit advertising tracking across the broader web, you can use these tools:
- Your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Note that this may affect the functionality of the Site.
- Google Ad Settings. adssettings.google.com — manage how Google personalizes ads and opt out of personalized advertising.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) ad preferences. Available in your account settings on Facebook and Instagram.
- Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA). optout.aboutads.info — opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies.
- Network Advertising Initiative (NAI). optout.networkadvertising.org — opt out of advertising from participating NAI members.
Authorized Agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit an opt-out request on your behalf. The agent must provide written, signed permission from you authorizing them to act, along with their own contact information. We may also ask you to verify your identity directly with us or to confirm that you provided the agent with permission.
What to Expect After You Opt Out
- Your opt-out applies to the personal information associated with the email address and identifiers you provide.
- Opting out does not delete personal information we have already collected. To request deletion, see Section 11 of our Privacy Policy.
- Opting out will not affect your account, order history, customer service, or transactional emails such as order confirmations and shipping notices.
- You may continue to see advertising for Marine Depot Direct products on other websites, but it will not be based on the personal information we have shared with advertising partners.
- You will not be discriminated against for exercising this right. We will not deny you products, charge you different prices, or provide a different level of service because you opted out.
Your Other Privacy Rights
Opting out of sale or sharing is just one of several privacy rights you may have. You can also request to know what personal information we have collected, request that we delete or correct your personal information, or request a copy of your personal information in a portable format. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of rights and how to exercise them.
