- Essential cookies — required for core Site functions such as account login, cart, checkout, and security. Disabling these may prevent the Site from working properly.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use the Site, measure traffic, and improve performance and content.
- Advertising and remarketing technologies — used by us and our advertising partners to deliver ads about our products on other sites and platforms, measure ad performance, and limit how often you see a given ad.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting cookies. Most browsers also let you set preferences for first-party and third-party cookies. Disabling certain cookies may affect Site functionality. Where required by applicable law, we provide a cookie consent or preference tool on the Site.
5. How We Share Information
We share personal information with the following categories of recipients:
- Service providers that support our business, including our ecommerce platform, hosting providers, payment processors, shipping carriers, freight brokers, tax calculation providers, customer support and helpdesk tools, email and SMS marketing providers, analytics providers, advertising networks, fraud-prevention services, and IT and security providers.
- Advertising partners that help us deliver and measure advertising. Depending on the technologies used, this may include sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under applicable state privacy laws.
- Manufacturers and business partners when needed to fulfill an order, support a warranty claim, or respond to a customer request.
- Affiliated companies under common ownership or control, including for shared back-office, customer service, and operational functions.
- Legal and regulatory recipients when required by law, subpoena, court order, or government request; to enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Marine Depot Direct, our customers, or others.
- Successors in a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, asset sale, or bankruptcy. Personal information may be transferred as part of those transactions.
We do not sell personal information for monetary payment. Some of our advertising and analytics practices may, however, qualify as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined under certain state privacy laws. See Section 11 below for your rights.
6. Payment Information
When you place an order, payment card details are submitted directly to our payment processor through secure, encrypted connections. We do not store full payment card numbers or CVV codes on our servers. We may retain limited payment-related information such as transaction amount, payment method type, last four digits of the card, billing zip code, transaction ID, and authorization status for order processing, fraud prevention, accounting, and tax purposes.
7. Email and Marketing Communications
Transactional emails. We send order confirmations, shipping notifications, return updates, account notices, and similar service messages. These are necessary for your account and orders and are not subject to opt-out.
Promotional emails. If you sign up for marketing emails or otherwise consent to receive them, we may send product announcements, promotions, and similar messages. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email or by contacting us at [email protected].
Text message marketing. If you opt in to receive text messages from us, message and data rates may apply, message frequency varies, and consent is not a condition of purchase. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any marketing text or by contacting us. Reply HELP for support.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as is reasonably necessary to provide our services, fulfill orders, support warranty and return claims, maintain account records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and comply with our legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose. When personal information is no longer needed, we will delete, anonymize, or securely archive it.
9. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption of payment data in transit, access controls, secure hosting, and ongoing security monitoring. No system is fully secure, however, and we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us or store on the Site.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected personal information from a child under 13, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. Your State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information under applicable state privacy laws. These rights may include:
- Right to know / access — the right to request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes for collection, and the categories of recipients with whom we have shared it.
- Right to delete — the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to correct — the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Right to portability — the right to receive a copy of certain personal information in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to opt out of targeted advertising.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information where applicable.

We may need to ask you for information to verify your identity before fulfilling your request. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, subject to verification.
12. California Privacy Notice
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), provides you with the privacy rights described in Section 11 above.
Categories of personal information collected in the prior 12 months. We have collected the following categories of personal information, as defined by the CCPA:
- Identifiers (name, email, postal address, phone number, IP address, account ID)
- Customer records (billing and shipping information, account credentials)
- Commercial information (purchase history, products viewed or considered)
- Internet or other electronic network activity (browsing and interaction data on the Site)
- Geolocation data (general location derived from IP address)
- Professional or employment-related information (provided in business or wholesale inquiries)
- Inferences drawn from the above categories (such as product preferences)
- Sensitive personal information limited to account login credentials. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger a right to limit use beyond what is permitted without a separate opt-out under the CPRA.
Sources, purposes, and recipients. The sources, business purposes for collection, and categories of recipients are described in Sections 2, 3, and 5 of this Privacy Policy.
Sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. We may “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the CPRA, including identifiers, internet activity, commercial information, and inferences. You have the right to opt out of this sharing using the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in our Site footer or by submitting a request as described in Section 11.

13. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
To opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information as defined under applicable state privacy laws, including cross-context behavioral advertising, visit our “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” page or email [email protected] with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share.” We will also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required by law.
14. International Visitors
The Site is operated from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your personal information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer.
15. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites, manufacturer pages, payment processors, freight carriers, social media platforms, and other services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing personal information to them.
16. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is no industry consensus on how to interpret these signals, we do not currently respond to them other than as required by applicable law. We do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice, such as a notice on the Site or an email to registered customers, as required by law. Please review this Privacy Policy periodically.
